Join us for nature play, exploration, and outdoor skills. We will explore everything from the birds soaring in the sky to the bugs in the willows.

Trailblazing in the Uncompahgre Valley
Kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders
July 10-12*
Times: 9:00am-2:00pm
Explore the trails and play trail games at Outer Range. Then take your new exploration skills to the Black Canyon and the Ute Museum. Play and wonder as you get to know the natural wonders in the Uncompahgre Valley.
*Please note, this course is 3 days instead of 4 days
Through the Rocks in the Uncompahgre Valley
3rd graders, 4th graders, and 5th graders
July 10-13
Times: 9:00am-2:00pm
Cool rocks!? Discover the Uncompahgre Valley through exploring different geologic features. Our explorations will range from the Painted Wall in the Black Canyon to the Enchanted Mesa at Ridgway and many places in between. See and feel different landscapes as you get to know the natural wonders in the Uncompahgre Valley.
Traverse the Uncompahgre Valley
Middle Schoolers
July 10-13
Times: 9:00am-2:00pm

Spend time on the mesas and canyon rims of our valley. Learn how to pack and prepare for outdoor adventures from nearby places from Ridgway State Park to the Black Canyon National Park. Develop and strengthen your outdoor skills and hiking ability as you get to know the natural wonders in the Uncompahgre Valley.

Discover what nature brings out in you. Strengthen your outdoor skills and adventuring abilities. We will spend the first two days building community with others as we prepare for an expedition to Owl Creek Pass. Finally embark on a shared experience spent overnight in the Cimarron Mountains.
